What if we lived in a society of success and prospersity - a place where everyone worked hard, owned their own property, and was responsible for their own stuff? What if we did not have to pick up other people's trash? What if we lived in a city where we could get what we want and always be content with what we have - a town of joy and flourishing? Do you not long for this ideal society? This vision is what we ought to strive for. We, as human beings, ought to strive for the good of our city. We ought to love our neighbors and do our vocations to the glory of God. We all ought to be home owners who cultivate and use our land, caring and taking responsibility for what we have. Is this vision not enticing?
Many people think this vision is impossible, but not me. This is my vision. This is what I work for! This is what Iive for! Often times people fallen into a mindset of scarcity rather than a mindset of plenty. A mindset of scarcity is when one begins to believe that there are not enough resources to go around for everyone. In this mindset, one begins to believe that good things are scarce and thus, he must get them now by taking them from others. This mindset leads to lieing, cheating, stealing, and taking advantage of others because other people are seen as competition. This is a mindset of scarcity.
On the other hand, in order to make my vision a reality, we must all adopt a mindset of plenty. This mindset is when one believes that there are more than enough resources to go around. In this mindset, one prospers by working hard and seeking to bless others rather than seeing them competition. The person who adopts this mindset sees others as people of value, meant to be helped and served rather than obstacles in his way. This is the mindset of plenty, which we all need.
As for me, I have adopted the mindset of plenty, knowing with full surety that God, our Good Creator, has given us more than enough good resouces for all. We are not competing with each, but working with each other toward the good of our city. One persons prosperity ought to help everyone. This mindset frees me to live for the good of others! This mindset allows me to seek your good. And as a realtor, this mindset propels me to help others rather than take advantage of them. Therefore, my vocational goal is to help you bring your housing dreams into reality. Whatever you might envision for your home, I would like to help you make that happen. That is my mission. This is my vision.
