The answer is simply: Yes.
Now that answer might surprise you seeing that I am a licensed realtor. I do believe that some to many people can sell their own houses, but let me ask you a follow up question: Do you believe your house will sell for a set price or within a price range?
If you chose the latter, then you are correct. All houses will sell within a price range depending on many factors: market, timing, marketing, exposure, condition, strategy, negotiations, repairs, etc. All of these factors will influence whether your home sells for the bottom of the range or the top of the range. The difference could be tens of thousands of dollars....
So can you sell your home? Answer: Absolutely!
Can you sell your home for the top of the range of value? Answer: Well that is for you to decide. Statistics say that most homes sold by their owners sell for less money than they would have if they would have hired a realtor...
Thus, my advice would be for you to hire an expert to make sure you make the most amount of money on the sale of (probably) your most valuable asset.
